Comparing Google Nexus Vs Apple iPhone

The most talked about phones on the market are the state of the art smartphones like the Nexus-One, the new product launched by Google and the longstanding Apple iPhone 3GS which quickly became the favorite kit of about everybody, not just Apple/Mac fans. The question is which product would win if you had to compare the two?

To answer the question we must analyze them respectively from multiple points of view. The one thing that is strikingly obvious once you start to compare them is that Nexus-One has a slightly bigger screen, but notwithstanding the IPhone Camera Lens Kit still looks slimmer and is rather fancy.

The second fundamental difference between the two is that the iPhone isn't multi tasking but on the otherhand the Nexus-One, powered by Google's own Android operating system, doesn't support as many APPS as the iPhone, although when first launched the Apple product had limited APPS and it is only subsequent to the launch that thousands have been created.

So it is a little unfair to compare the numbers of APPS and doubtless the newcomer will attract it's own support of application authors.

More significantly you will find the Google product has a bigger estimated talk time of around 7 hours while Apple only has 5 hours. And not only that, but, the stand-by time in real live tests was bigger for Nexus than the competition.

If we were still to compare the two we would need to introduce into discussion the better photo camera (5 megapixels) of the Google phone. The Apple phone only has a 3 MP camera but some say the lens and therefore the output may be of higher quality.

As far as the price goes, Google is in the lead because the overall costs of owning one are lower than the overall costs for the Apple product. This may yet turn out to be the longterm decisive factor although the Nexus-One being a new product and coming from a company which has never made mobile phones may encounter some skepticism.

At the moment the iPhone 4 Vibration  Motor clearly seems to be a favorite because it has a huge database of APPS available and if you were to compare the Nexus APPS with the quality of the applications of the iPhone you would probably discover that those created for the iPhone are much more detailed, have a better design and move rather faster. On the other hand Nexus gains some points for better data access.

Every Apple user has tried to compare the new Nexus-One with the iPhone and though the score board is tight the Apple phone seems to be winning the battle in the market place for the moment. Whether is fair or not is difficult to say and anyway because of the emotional factor the precise reasons are not so clear. Maybe it is the fact iPhone Capacitive Stylus appear to be more fun than the Android phone or maybe because it has far better sound quality or maybe just because people have gotten used to it.

Who can tell. It is often the case that the first movers in a new market will gain a near monopoly in the early days, but whether it is justified in this case, or not, is difficult to say, and one the unmeasurable and oft ignored underlying factor that comes into peoples preferences will also be the Apple/Mac cachet.
